ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Chelsea were left aghast at two decisions against Real. Firstly, a penalty was awarded, from which Olga Carmona scored, despite Jessie Fleming committing the foul while outside of the area.
Secondly, Chelsea's late winner, from Niamh Charles, appeared to be incorrectly ruled out for offside.

WHAT EMMA HAYES SAID
Hayes was left fuming and said: "I could see from the bench that it was tackle outside of the box so I’m absolutely shocked that those managing the game couldn’t see that. That was clear. Of course maybe Jessie shouldn’t lunge in that are but it was clearly outside and at this level… we were in control of the game. Important decisions like that go against you, it makes it difficult."
She added: "Then there is the free-kick that was awarded as a penalty. Then we score a legitimate goal with Niamh Charles three or four yards onside. It’s embarrassing. But of course I had to check the reason the goal was disallowed, was it because of Niamh? No, it was because Sam was interfering with the goalkeeper. I’ve then watched it back, Sam’s about seven yards, eight yards away from the goalkeeper. She’s nowhere near her. So I cannot understand the decision whatsoever. I think we’ve been robbed of what should have been a 3-1 game."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Chelsea have been denied the chance to start their European campaign with a win but will remain confident of emerging from a group that also features Hacken and Paris FC. Hacken beat their French opponents 2-1 in their opening game of the competition.
